Frequently asked questions
You might be wondering if your issue is too great or too small to ask for help. You might not be quite sure what you need but just know something isn’t ok right now. Having an initial 15 minute phone chat, with no judgement or obligation might help you make a decision and feel more at ease about asking for support.
Hopefully our initial 15 minute chat will help you get a feel for me and how we might work together. If we agree to meet after this, whilst we might agree on an initial number of sessions you are under no obligation to continue if it doesn’t feel right for you.
Complete the online enquiry form here (https://www.mountainstoclimbcounselling.co.uk/contact-8)to arrange a 15 minute initial chat. Alternatively email me direct debbie@mountainstoclimbcounselling.co.uk (debbie@mountainstoclimbcounselling.co.uk)or message me via Whatsapp.(wa.me/447368869373) I’ll aim to respond within 48hrs.
Counselling isn’t about giving advice. I will support you to explore and better understand your thoughts and feelings, enabling you to find a way forward that works for you.
I have experience supporting clients across a broad range of issues, including bereavement and loss of all kinds, life changes, anxiety, depression, sexuality, low self-worth, relationship issues (work and personal), adult and childhood trauma.
Effective counselling requires a willingness to explore yourself and better understand your thoughts and feelings. There is no one type of person who is better or worse to work with, and I am adaptable to working with individuals with different approaches and needs. I welcome all genders, the LGBTQ+ community and neurodiverse.
Importantly, I should be the right fit for you, which is why I always encourage a quick 15-minute informal chat before we agree to meet for full sessions. Contact me to get started.
Confidentiality in counselling is really important so that you feel safe and at ease to talk about whatever you need to. Any personal details/notes I keep will be held securely. What we discuss is of course confidential, with some exceptions in extreme circumstances. For more information please read my privacy notice.
